Forest of Nightmares

Diamond padded through the dark forest, each step light and soundless, her eyes scanning the darkness, a growl of annoyance rumbling through her chest as the situation hit her again. She had been killed, by the same creatures she had fought beside, and now she was stuck in the pack land's spirit realm, though at the moment she doubted she was in the spirit realm. Another one, still in the pack's lands, though not in a spirit land, and not in the physical. From what she heard the others talking about, she guessed she was in the dream realm, and by the dark feeling and creature that had attacked her, the forest of nightmares. She had escaped unscathed, but was still ever caustious. Diamond froze as the sounds of fighting reached her ears, but she continued walking after a few moments towards the noise, curiousity peaked. She kept to the shadows, though she doubted they would help with her white pelt, and snuck ever closer, a few figures coming within her field of vision, very familiar figures. It took her a moment to fully reconize all of them, but after she did her eyes widened in slight surprise but them narrowed in anger. Shadow and Jay, fighting, with a female she had seem in silver moon a few times and a entirely new male standing a few feet away from the brawling wolves. Without much thought she sprung quickly from her hiding place and at Shadow, noticing the scent of blood and that both males were pretty injured. She had happened to die pretty healthy. She sunk her fangs into Shadow's flesh, knocking into him with her full weight, trying to knock him off his feet. She could tell that Shadow was a ghost, she already knew that, that Jay was alive, and that a spirit can't die a second time, even though it might appear so. With a low growl she started lashing out with her claws, a rush of adreniline running through her veins.

Jay eyes betrayed his surprise when Shadow got beneath him in one move and sent the male falling to the ground, huffing with pain as his muzzle banged off the hard earth. At least the male had broke a leg, this brought a sickening satisfaction to Jay though he winced painfully when claws raked across him drawing more blood. He was losing this fight. Which was obviously gonna happen being Shadow was a spirit and couldn't die. Stupid. Lying on his back, the large grey wolf swung a heavy paw at Shadow, claws extended and grunted with satisfaction when he heard skin tear and blood coat his claws somewhere on the wolf's shoulder. Then suddenly someone else had joined the fight just like that. Scrambling to his paws, Jay bared his fangs, determined to go down fighting despite the coming dread. Then he suddenly recognized the wolf that had arrived, the wolf that was not fighting against him but with him. Diamond! He felt that rush of warmth at the sight of the female that was abruptly cut off when the black one, Phynix, snarled at Diamond.

This angered Jay. They all hated Diamond for leading the pack of coyotes at them. Perfectly understandable. But Diamond had arrived looking for a pack and then had been treated horrid by Blizzard, so this was really al Blizzard's fault yet Diamond got the blame?! He huffed with surprise when the wolf pushed Diamond into him. Grunting, he just managed to stay on his paws though now his eyes were just focused unmoving on Shadow, horrid images prancing in his eyes.

There was part of him that just wanted to grab the male and rip him to shreds, smirk triumphantly over his dead body. Yet no....that was his fathers thoughts...not him.....his father had trained him to do that. He shivered slightly at the memory of his father's claws sinking into the pup's /his brother's/ neck as the small body jerked, blood bubbling from his throat and then Jay's pride and glee at beating his siblings, at surviving. His happiness that they had died and he'd won. Even when first arriving here he'd been ruthless, maybe he still was. Or maybe he was just sick of life. Sick of everything. All defenses down, Jay just glared challengingly at Shadow, was there anyone in this world that would give a toss if he died? He'd thought his father would but he knew now just how wrong he was, to his father all he was, was a tool. Why live without a purpose?

Jay's ears flattened and he staggered when hearing Diamond's pained yowl as if it had been he himself struck. Jay blinked in surprise at her voice, at the urgency in it telling him to leave. So urgent that his body almost instinctively left just out of habit as he would usually do for her. Yet his mind still worked and his usually blind eyes widened, the agony in his muzzle and throb of the multiple wounds around him seeming to dull. He couldn't leave her. Just couldn't. Yet things were starting to get slower and duller and when he took a step forward he almost tripped. He was waking up. Yet even in this state he could see Shadow latch onto Diamond's leg and pull. Rage boiled through the healer's veins and despite his bleariness, he launched himself at Shadow. Hitting the male squarely, hoping to knock him with both the surprise and the sheer force of the impact. He snarled with fury, claws tearing down on the male, giving no mercy to the broken leg and in fact clawing at that harder, determined to give the former Lead Warrior something to think about before he woke up.
